Mother's Day! What a fabulous day for us Mommys to enjoy our families and step back and look at the beautiful miracles we are able to create. Yes, hard work, not much sleep and way too many days that I have looked in the mirror and been taken aback by my roots. But...hey each and every moment is worth those smiles and big blues staring back at you!
This year, we traveled to San Augustine to visit Matt's Mama (Mimi), Grandma (Gigi), cousin Courtney (who is expecting Mason this year!) and Auntie Linda. We had so much fun and the kids just love East Texas. Forests, mud, trees and so much space to just run and be kids. It was an awesome weekend and my wonderful husband made my day so special as always. I missed seeing my own Mama that day and getting to hug her for all of the sleepless nights and worry she went through to get me raised :) I was a good kid so I think she got off easy hahaha
Hope all you Moms had a great day too! xoxoxo
"Enchanted" Bella

Nerves Much?

I may not be able to write this post without tearing up a bit :) Isabella Hope has been taking dance lessons, ballet and tap specifically, and it has been such a great experience for her. She has made her first set of "besties" and the girls have so much fun together. To make it even better, they all are so fabulous in their class! We are lucky to have wonderful teachers, Miss Marissa and Miss Sara who have oodles of patience to teach a class of 9 toddlers the discipline of ballet! They all look so adorable each week in their tutus and tiny little ballet and tap shoes.
At the end of the dance semester, the girls are in a production that the dance studio puts on and we got to attend Bella's 1st dance recital this past Saturday! For those of you who know Miss Bella...you know that her life "revolves" around princesses. Princess dresses, Princess shoes, tiaras, romantic Princess music, tutus, anything that resembles Princess...she HAS to have! It is hysterical...she even asks if we want to Princess kiss her hahaha. This means that you have to tilt her back and give her a smooch on the lips like the princes do in the fairy tales whent hey marry the Princesses. Lord have mercy!!
Bella looked gorgeous in her appropriately named "Enchanted" costume...all dolled up and she even was able to wear blush and lip gloss which made her year. We are so proud of our little dancer. She did the entire dance on stage, no stage fright at all, and enjoyed it so much! We bought her a giant bouquet of roses, which ended up being bigger than her so she could feel like a star. Brody even sat through the entire recital watching his Sissy and Grandma had tears in her eyes the entire time ;)
Congratulations Bella sweetie...we are so proud of you!!!

Brody Turns 2!
Our "little" guy has turned two! Yes, time flies and he is growing like a weed. The times of two and three little chubby rolls on those thighs of his are going to be a distant past...sniff sniff. How I love my chubby, snuggly babies. But I guess they do have to grow up and Matt & I are enjoying every minute of it. Brody has definitely turned the corner on some milestones in the last few months and although Isabella (aka "Sis" per Brody) still chatters away and tells us what she thinks Brody needs, he is starting to bable loads of words on his own! It is so awesome to hear his little voice sounding out words as we sit during dinner and playtime. He is all boy and most words come with a growl or sound effect following. He takes phonics to a new level hahaha!
Since Brody is all rough 'em tough 'em...we decided to have an Outlaw party for him with cowboy hats, pistols & holsters, and of course, mustaches :) We had a small party and had our friends Rebecca & Will over with their adorable little ones, Colin and Aidan and my brother, Von, and of course Grandma, joined us for some good cooking Outlaw style....Cowboy Burgers...yum! His Mimi (Grandma Cathleen) sent him a bounce house too...which we blow up outside and inside for the kids to get crazzzy!
It is amazing to celebrate the Birthday of our little man and all of the moments we are lucky enough as parents to see. The best job in the world. Happy Birthday Bubby!!

Lifeworks Gala 2011
I am very lucky to be the lead in the Lifeworks Gala each year as it is an event we create and produce pro bono to give back to the fabulous organization which transitions youth and families from crisis to safety and success. They served over 10, 00 individuals last year and it is an organziation that has become dear to me. The individuals I work with to create the event are amazing and their life's work is something that is so transforming for the individuals they help. After a 10 hour set up with my awesome crew I ran home and was able to bring my handsome husband to the black tie event this year which was so much fun...and it is a great excuse to get him in a suit! Had to share our caricature form the night....I wish I was really that skinny hahaha
